Saving Ernest Hemingway's Cuban Legacy:
Preserving Finca Vigia

The mission of The Finca Vigía  Foundation* is to work collaboratively with Cuban colleagues to restore and preserve Ernest Hemingway's home, Finca Vigía,  its contents, and his famous fishing boat, Pilar. The home, located 12 miles outside Havana, Cuba, is filled with original furniture, 9,000 books, artwork, and several thousand irreplaceable letters, photographs, documents, and manuscripts. The preservation of the documents and repair of the villa must occur immediately, before all is lost forever.

* Formerly known as the Hemingway Preservation Foundation, Inc.
